Catholic University of the North
UCN was born thanks to the initiative of a group of priests from the Society of Jesus and their benefactor, Mrs. Berta González de Astorga. The university came into operation formally on May 31st, 1956, therefore becoming the eighth University to be founded in Chile and the third involving a Catholic vocation.
It currently has a roll of more than 12 thousand students. In the last few years the University has made important efforts to bring a varied offer of Postgraduate Courses, Master’s Degree and PhDs to fruition in different areas of knowledge.
