Chile is considered the best country to travel

The renowned Lonely Planet international tourism guide, rated Chile as the best country to visit during 2018. With more than 145 published editions, it is considered a source of expert opinion on travel.
The distinction was made through a selection of 10 destinations to visit this coming year, taking the southern country, the first place in the count. This is due to the diversity of landscapes that can be seen throughout its geography, from the beautiful and ancient glaciers to the South in Chilean Patagonia; its modern capital to the center and to the north, the driest desert on the planet. Suitable places to develop different activities, in the tourist, educational, sports, cultural and commercial areas.
In this way, Chile is located on world tourist icons such as South Korea, Portugal, Djibouti, New Zealand, Malta, Georgia, Mauritius, China and South Africa, which were present in the list of destinations suggested by the travel guide.
In view of the publication, Javiera Montes, undersecretary of national tourism, mentioned that the distinction demonstrates the effectiveness of international promotion, referring that in 2016, the number of visiting tourists reached 5.5 million.
Likewise, Marcela Cabezas, director of Sernatur, said that this recommendation is a product of the natural beauties of the country and adds to the Best Destination Award for Adventure Tourism for South America granted by the World Travel Awards 2017.
